Did you know ...

An A0 sheet of paper has an area of one square metre (one million square millimetres).

Fold an A0 sheet in half to give a size called A1 (i.e. A0 folded one time). Fold a second time to give A2, and so on. Thus A4 is A0 folded in half four times. 16 sheets of A4 can be cut from one A0 sheet.

The thickness of paper is measured by its weight in grammes per square metre (gsm). Thus one A0 sheet of 80gsm paper weighs 80 grammes. An A4 80gsm sheet weighs five grammes (80 divided by 16).
