We produce newsletters for a number of sporting clubs, community groups, educational bodies, and businesses.
We can work from printed originals, or direct from computer files (eg Word, Publisher or PDFs). Output can vary from Black & White to Full Colour, and may be folded ready to post.
The style of newsletter and the detail of what we do varies greatly from case to case. The following real examples give an idea of what can be done:
Example 1
A social group puts out 100 copies of a monthly newsletter with 24 to 32 x A5 size pages in a saddle-stitched booklet format (A4 folded in half and stapled). Black image on pastel coloured paper, this newsletter usually features quite a number of good quality photos.
The editor sets the newsletter up using Microsoft Publisher and supplies it to us as a single file on a CD.
Using Microsoft Publisher on one of our PCs, we print direct to a Ricoh 1060 laser copier/printer. This unit automatically prints double sided, collates, staples and folds the newsletters.
Usual turnaround time is "same day".
Example 2
A sizeable public utility produces several hundred copies a staff newsletter, usually two-colours, double sided, on an A4 sheet, and folded to DL size ready to go in pay envelopes. The editor sets the newsletter up using Microsoft Word and emails the file to us.
We print one crisp, clean copy which the editor reviews, then we use this as the master to run off the newsletters one colour at a time on our RISO single colour press. Since the Riso is an ink based machine, the newsletters are allowed to dry before folding.
Usual turnaround time is "next day".
Example 3
A social group produces 200 newsletters every two months - 8 to 12 A4 pages, double-sided and stapled in the top-left corner. The editor uses various means to produce the A4 originals which we then copy "off-the-glass". The copier automatically double-sides, collates and staples.
Usual turnaround time is "same morning".
Example 4
An education group produces several hundred full colour newsletters at irregular intervals. These newsletters tend to vary significantly in the number of pages and can be to A4 or A3 formats. Each edition features a number of full colour photographs. The editor sets each edition up using Microsoft Publisher. She will then print a proof copy using our PC and make any necessary changes. We then run the prints direct from our PC to one of our Colour laser copier/printers. Collating and stapling and folding are usually done manually by us. The newsletters are then folded ready for distribution.
Example 5
An Australia-wide common interest group produces several hundred newsletters every quarter. 12 to 16 pages, double sided on A4 with two staples on the left hand side. The editor sets the original up as a Microsoft Word file which is emailed to us. We then print direct to the copier which automatically double-sides, collates and staples. The editor is based in Sydney - all contact is via email.
Usual turnaround time is "next day".
